hi everyone, thank you for all the congratulations. I think the baby will be due 21st September. I've got my first appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning. I haven't had any symptoms yet and I'm worried as i've been spotting with some brown discharge ( soory too much information, but it's true) last night and this morning. I'm not in any pain and it doesn'y seem to have gotten any worse. I guess I'll have to wait and see. I don't know whether he'll do anything as i'm only 5 weeks 3 days so its probably too early. It is scary though I can't think of anything else. I also feel stupid as I told my close family and really wish i'd listened to my OH and kept it quiet for the beginning. Oh well fingers crossed. Thank you for all your support xx

if you are at all worried get along to the maternity hospital for a check.
there is an early pregnancy unit in our one. You will be a high risk prg because of the pre existing conditions so go for the check.

hello, I had my doctors appt this morning just took all my details and my blood pressure. He wouldn't do another test as he said the shop bought ones were fine. He tested for infections and everything was ok. He felt my stomach to make sure I didn't have any tender areas and that was fine too. he said in regards to the brown discharge it's just a matter of waiting to see. He said they have to treat it is as a threatened miscarriage but it could be normal. I spoke with my friend who said that she had a full on bleed at 10 weeks and everything was still fine.
I would be happier I think if I had some symptoms, I do have a bit of backache low down today. My mum said that i'll get symptoms soon and wish I hadn't said I wanted them!
He gave me the details of my midwife and said that she'll be in contact soon. So I guess I can call her if i'm worried. (It does seems to be after i've been for a no2, I can't believe I'm even talking about it on here but just need some reassurance really)
Thanks for reading, you'll be fed up with me before long!
Sarah xx

Not fed up with you at all Sarah, very interested to know how you are! Try to rest as much as possible just in case it is a threatened miscarriage. Still got everything crossed for you.

Hi Sarah Glad you have visited the docs and he has checked you out. I had some bleeding at about seven weeks and was told it was a threatened miscarriage and "just to let nature take its course". It settled down and I went for an early scan at about 12 weeks ... twins! So don't despair, get plenty of rest, continue to eat well and take each day as it comes. Symptoms will come along before you know it! Do keep us posted please Sarah we would love you to share your pregnancy with us (if you don't mind, of course!). Take care, Lyn x

hello everyone, I feel much better now, everything seems to have calmed down a bit. I actually feel a bit sicky today, I keep on smelling jacket potato with beans and checking there's none in the bin, which of course there isn't. The bleeding seems to have stopped, and i think is only when i struggle for a no2 I'm quite past caring who i tell what now, I guess I should get used to that. Thanks for your messages, maybe i should start a new thread in pregnancy? xx

Congratulations!!!!!!! So thrilled for you.
Just want to add that I too had some bleeding with my first pregnancy. Was told that it was a threatened miscarriage and to wait and see. Well that threatened miscarriage will be 34 this year.
I can remember that if it had not been for the obvious sign of missed periods, baby kicking and a big bump growing I wouldn't of realised I was pregnant. No sickness or cravings at all.

P.S Sarah, I had bleeding for the first 6 months of my first full-term pregnancy and had to stay in bed for all that 6 months. I was 18 years old so it was pretty boring. But that baby boy, Tristan, is 34 years old now with a 9 year old daughter of his own! Much love, Fiona
